Find Your Flow (and a Little Bit of Magic) with Horses in Ohariu Valley
Hidden in the hills of Ohariu Valley — just 20 mins from Wellington CBD — there’s a place where stress takes a backseat, your phone finally stops buzzing, and the horses remind you what it’s like to just breathe again.
This isn’t your average “walk in the paddock” kind of deal. With Equine Flow, you get bespoke coaching and mindfulness sessions with our four-legged co-facilitators (aka: horses who don’t do small talk, but somehow know exactly what you need).
Whether you’re here to shake off the overwhelm, find your confidence again, or give your team something that isn’t another awkward trust fall exercise — you’re in the right place.
Mindfulness with Horses
Less stress. More presence. Zero horse experience needed.
Horses are absolute masters at being in the now (no anxiety about emails, no overthinking that text message… just pure presence).
In these sessions, you’ll ground yourself, reconnect with your senses, and walk away feeling like someone just hit the “reset” button on your brain.
Perfect if you want to:
Feel grounded instead of frazzled
Actually enjoy a deep breath (without your mind running off)
Reconnect with yourself, nature, and those “ahhhh” moments
What to expect:
Simple grounding & sensory exercises (no yoga pretzel shapes, promise)
Horse time: observing, breathing, connecting at your own pace
A safe space to reflect, reset, and take a break from the noise
Pricing:
1:1 Session (60 min): $97
3-Session Reset Package: $255
Small Group (2–4, 60 min): $140 for 2 people, +$50 per extra person
Coaching with Horses
Think life coaching, but with fewer buzzwords and more horse power (literally).
Forget the idea that horses are “mirrors” — they’re more like brutally honest mates who call you out on your energy without saying a word. In coaching, they help you notice the patterns holding you back and give you the confidence to shift them.
Perfect if you want to:
Build rock-solid self-belief
Navigate change without feeling like you’re free-falling
Uncover what’s really been blocking you (even the sneaky stuff)
Feel brave enough to take up space in your own life
What to expect:
Guided exploration with horses (don’t worry, I’m with you the whole time)
Lightbulb moments about how you actually show up in the world
Tools & support to help you move forward with clarity
Pricing:
1:1 Session (90 min): $190
3-Session Package: $333
Schools & Corporate Experiences
Warning: this is not your standard “team-building exercise.”
Forget trust falls, name games, or those weird “group problem-solving” challenges. Horses don’t lie, play politics, or suck up to the boss. Which makes them perfect for creating genuine connection, confidence, and communication in your group.
We’ll tailor the experience to your team, students, or private group. So whether you’re after mindfulness, leadership skills, or just something wildly different — we’ve got you covered. Add a paddock picnic or grazing table if you want to make it extra special.
Options include:
Presence-based team building (spoiler: no flipcharts)
Confidence & communication workshops
Bespoke group experiences
Pricing:
Half-day (3 hrs) from $1,200 for up to 6 people
Full-day from $2,000 for up to 10 people
Additional participants: +$150–$200 per person

What People Say
We all loved it! Thank you so much!!
Sharyn - Mindfulness with Horses
It was SO MUCH FUN!! My favourite part was being with the horses.
R. - School Group
I left with a lot more confidence and being able to relate to others. I really enjoyed talking and learning about stuff that’s important but not often talked about enough at my age. And of course I loved the things we did with the horses.
V. - Group experience
I loved being with the horses and I learned so much about how I can communicate how I’m feeling easier.
C. - Coaching with Horses
I really enjoyed it! I learned more about how to value my feelings and emotions and my favourite part was doing the exercises with the horses.

Meet the Horses
Our four-legged team aren’t just pretty faces — they’re teachers, coaches, and occasional comedians (horses have a weird sense of humour, trust me). Each has their own vibe, quirks, and lessons to share.
-
Clover is the dark mare with a heart as big as her personality. Sweet when you earn it, assertive when you don’t, and always clear with her boundaries. She’s the kind of horse who will politely (or not-so-politely) tell you when you’re off your game. Clover teaches us confidence, respect, and how to trust our instincts — and she loves those who show up authentically.
-
We also have a rotating cast of buddies who pop in for group sessions, lessons, or corporate experiences. Each horse brings their own personality: some are curious, some are dramatic, some just want scratches and snacks. Together, they create a herd dynamic that’s rich in learning, connection, and the occasional belly laugh.
-
Tino is a brown gelding who basically invented “go with the flow.” He’s generally pretty calm, easy-going, and a little bit cheeky. As herd boss, he keeps everyone in line — without being bossy. Tino helps humans slow down, notice subtle energy shifts, and embrace life with a lighter heart.
Why our horses are so special:
They read your energy better than most people
They teach confidence, presence, and empathy
They make sessions unforgettable (and often hilarious)
Come meet them — they might just teach you more than you expect, all while stealing your heart along the way ❤️
Meet Your Human Facilitator & Coach
Hi, I’m Susan — your human facilitator (the horses are my co-facilitators, obviously).
I’m an equine scientist, horse behaviourist, and certified equestrian coach who somehow ended up becoming just as obsessed with helping humans as I am with helping horses. I’m also a Master Transformational Coach and ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) — which is a fancy way of saying I’ve got the credentials and the sass to back it up.
What I do: create safe, meaningful, sometimes fun, always life-shifting experiences where you can reconnect, get clarity, and find your flow.
Curious? A little intrigued? Slightly nervous (that’s normal)? Perfect. Let’s chat.
My Credentials (because I know you like to see them!):
ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC)
Master Transformational Coach
BHS Certified Equestrian Coach
MSc in Equine Science from Aberystwyth Univeristy, Wales
BSc in Environmental Science from University College Roosevelt, the Netherlands

FAQs
-
No, our equine flow experiences are all done with our horses at liberty with your feet firmly on the ground. This allows for the interactions to be consensual for both horse and client.
-
No, our horses are very friendly and these experiences are fully guided to keep you safe.
For safety reasons, we may move your session if our horses aren’t feeling their best selves.

Coaching is not the same as therapy, and is not a good replacement for therapy.
Coaching is designed to help you become the best version of yourself. And whilst it is often deeply transformational, it is not suitable on it’s own if you are struggling significantly with your mental health.
Though we are happy to take you on if your therapist has given you the green light.
