Hi, I’m Susan!
I absolutely love this work. Not in a polished, professional way, but in a “it lights-me-up and I can't-stop-thinking-about-it way”
Watching a horse and rider break through something they've been stuck on for years never gets old. Not once.
I've spent my whole life getting here. Growing up in the Netherlands I trained at top dressage and showjumping yards, worked alongside Olympic-level competitors, and developed an early obsession with what actually creates connection between horse and rider.
That obsession led me around the world — Europe, Asia, Australia, and eventually Aotearoa New Zealand — and into fifteen years of working with hundreds of horses and riders across every discipline and level.

What makes this work different isn't just my credentials. It's what I can see.
I am amazing at seeing through masks — the ones horses wear when they've learned to cope, AND the ones riders wear when they're holding it together but are not really okay. I've spent years sorting through my own relationship with horses. The things I thought were normal that weren't. The guilt of realising it. The work of doing better. That journey is in every session I run.
I'm no bullshit.
I won't tell you that you did great when something needs to change. I don't do toxic positivity. I don't smile and wave when a horse or rider is clearly not okay. I have strong opinions and I say what I think — with genuine compassion for where you are, because I've been there too.
What I will do is have your back completely. If you're willing to learn and do the work — I am with you, all the way.
This is my life's work. I know what I do is different. But I can't imagine doing anything else.
